Snow art

Artist Simon Beck spent a lot of time in the French Alpes this winter creating these amazing pieces of snow art by walking in the snow wearing raquettes (snowshoes). Typically a large design is the size of 3 soccer fields and takes 2 days to be ready.  Beck explained how this started: "the main reason for making them was because I can no longer run properly due to problems with my feet, so plodding about on level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise. Gradually, the reason has become photographing them, and I am considering buying a better camera.”
Atlas owl

The London-based creatives Julie Wilkinson and Joyanne Horscroft of The Makerie Studio created this incredibly owl made of Atlas paper.
"Life size representation of a Screech Owl created using patterned atlas papers, gold foil and gold cards. The piece is layered with over two thousand tiny, hand cut feathers, each one depicting a different region of the globe." Beautiful!

Lindo!
