Snow art

Artist Simon Beck spent a lot of time in the French Alpes this winter creating these amazing pieces of snow art by walking in the snow wearing raquettes (snowshoes). Typically a large design is the size of 3 soccer fields and takes 2 days to be ready.  Beck explained how this started: "the main reason for making them was because I can no longer run properly due to problems with my feet, so plodding about on level snow is the least painful way of getting exercise. Gradually, the reason has become photographing them, and I am considering buying a better camera.” 

O artista Simon Beck passou muito tempo nos Alpes franceses neste inverno criando essas peças incríveis de arte em neve feitas por ele andando na neve vestindo raquetes (sapatos para andar na neve). Normalmente, um projeto grande é o tamanho de 3 campos de futebol e leva 2 dias para ficar pronto. Segundo Beck, "a principal razão para fazê-las foi porque eu já não posso correr devido a problemas com os meus pés e andar na neve é a forma menos dolorosa de fazer exercício Aos poucos, a razão tornou-se fotografá-los, e agora estou pensando em comprar uma câmera melhor. "
